861 dial on 321 movement.

I know there are countless threads on similar subjects but bear with me.
I’m aware that unless they are modified, 321 dials will not fit 861 movements as the dial feet are too thick to be accepted into movement.
I’m also aware that 861 dials will fit 321 movements as clearly their feet are slimmer.

However, is an 861 dial secure on a 321 movement? is it simply a case of tightening the screws slightly further so they get sufficient grip or (aesthetics and correctness aside) is an 861 dial on a 321 dial a bodge?

Do Omega 321 service dials exist?

Yes they do.

I should clarify, the watch is actually a 320, not 321 and I believe it may have a later 860 dial.

I’m not aware of service 320 dials.

This is an old 321 dial with applied logo, the dial feet have been filed down and it has been put on a 861 movement in the past, you can see the small hole the screw has made to the side of the foot.
The 321 movement has a dial screw like pictured, I think a 861 dial should fit without any probs.
One of the photos below is credited to Al Archer.
Hope you don’t mind Al, but if you do I will take it down.

No worries...it's a good illustration of the difficulties involved.

Thanks @michael e that helps a lot.

@philips I’m trying to understand whether an 860 dial (which I assume has the same feet as an 861), can safely be used on a 320 movement given the fact that original 320 dials are hard to find and I’m not sure that service dials exist.

Ok, cool. Would be interesting to know if 320 service dials exist.
