I’ve always assumed he has sources in Asia who send him packages with multiple watches as he commits to buy at strong trade prices.
This is then supplemented by one of finds on eBay/forums etc.

Yeah, it's not only eBay, there are various sources. And there are people who do the shopping for him, too - or approach him with offers. Obviously, it's easy to pay a good price if you can charge 3x market value.

That being said, while I agree with @Peemacgee that it's a pain for us collectors sometimes, zero bad feelings regarding the guy. His target audience certainly isn't us, but people who want that one piece without investing too much time. The services he does seem to be on a high level. It is what it is.

I do agree with all of the above but would just like to add that although I don't know him at all he does strike me as being a passionate vintage Omega lover first and foremost, which in my book counts for a lot.

I've watched many of his entertaining YouTube videos and they are always a worth while viewing.

He strikes me as a collector who has slowly over the years developed his flipping/upgrading into a slick operation.

I agree with MtV and Cristos. I don’t think that he’s harming the collector community. No one has to buy from him and I frankly find his business model to be far more ethical than the unscrupulous dealers out there who charge similarly inflated prices for redialed junk and bill it as authentic and original. He’s a passionate collector like many of us and he sells on the side. I say fine. His videos do a great service by helping to educate uninformed buyers. As for eBay, there are bargains to be had. Some of the best pieces in my collection resulted from trolling eBay at 3 a.m. If he’s good at finding diamonds in the rough, restoring them, and selling them at platinum prices to willing buyers, I have no problem with that. It’s business.

Absolutely ! no-one is being told to buy only from him, and he is doing a very good job ; there's a place for everybody on this planet, including professionals who are targeting the high end of the market.
