Annapolis
·Hi all,
Once again I hope to tax your collective wisdom and sharpness of vision with a prospective purchase as I continue my quest for a birth-year watch. This one ticks several boxes: stainless, round, and something that's not so perfect I'd be afraid to wear it every day---plus it's priced reasonably ($495). Seller says it was recently serviced.
I'm sure there are details I'm missing, so I'd love your feedback. And if any of you have sharper eyes (or digital tools) than I do, perhaps you can help me sort out the most crucial detail, which could be a dealbreaker or dealmaker: is this a 1977? The second line of the serial # begins 74... It's the two very obscure digits above that that I'm straining to make out. The seller can't make it out either. 40 would mean 1977, but right now I'm not confident it doesn't say 39...
As I've mentioned before, I'm not in a hurry, but this is definitely the first watch I've found that (assuming it's the right year) satisfies all of my criteria, including being located in the US.
The last pic is a (crappy) enhancement of the serial #.
