Sexy!

Laco?

Aw, @Foo2rama you wrecked it.

Nice watch, by the way... a few cool little details. Does the dial have a touch of blue to it or is that just my iPhone wrecking everything in my life again?

Also, I don’t know if actual pilots are allowed to wear pilot watches anymore. Can someone reach out to John Mayer to confirm?

...Laco?
I don’t know. It looks sort of like a Laco. The initial pic in this thread is a pic that the AWCI sent to me to inform me that this will be the watch that we will be working on individually during the Introduction to Watchmaking Class at AWCI HQ in Cincinnati [Harrison], Ohio in March. It has a 17j ETA 6498 movement.

But the watch has no “brand name”...so what do you call it? After I get done with it [and purchase it for $300 following the class]...I’m likely to name it/call it “Mad Dog’s Abomination”. The other thing is I don’t know how big it is [I forgot to ask the AWCI]...I’m guessing around 44 or 45mm?

I'm just jealous, as I am looking for the perfect Flieger, this one just reset one of my wants... Although this looks like a 45.

I just want a nice 40-42mm handwind, sterile Flieger uhr A with a non sand blasted finish, an Onion crown and blued hands. The small seconds is a great touch to it though. I just wish Laco or Stowa or Archimedes actually would do a watch with all of those options at the same time!

Also jealous about the class and that cool piece and owning that when your done.

I don’t know for sure but it looks black to me. Below is the original pic that the AWCI sent...before I mashed the black point slider button to “eleven”...to get rid of dude’s camera phone reflection...

NOTE: I also cropped dude’s fancy shoes out of the initially posted pic in this thread...they were distracting me...so you get to see dude’s fancy shoes in the pic below...

It's a 6497. 6498 would have the sub-seconds at 6, not 9.

I was going to say if they are starting with a 6498 and ending up with that watch, it will be quite the course! 😉
