7" wrist...Speedy Pro 42MM or Speedy Pro Numbered Edition 39.5

    Hello Everyone,

I rarely post on this site but thought I'd ask you all for your thoughts. I'm a Rolex wearer but have always had my sights on a Speedy Pro. I'm quite torn between the traditional 42mm Moon Watch and the 39.5mm numbered edition.

That said, no matter which way I go I'll be wearing it on a leather strap as my other daily is on a bracelet.

The real question is which do you think will go better on my 7" wrist? The differences between the two seem subtle enough for me aside from the broad arrow hands on the 39.5mm.

    What do you think?

    Thanks, guelerct.

Any chance you could post a few pictures of yours?

Here's a 42mm Speedy (though not a moonwatch, it has a moonwatch case)

Here's the 39mm pre-moon on which the numbered edition is based (well, close to it and very similar to it)

    My wrist is about 7.25..

The 42 is a good size, 39 feels nice too, but not as substantial. It's a very tough call. I'd probably go with 42 if I had to choose, or at least 42 first.. ;)

You can't go wrong with either though!

I think the difference in size will be negligible (the difference is having crown guard or not) so buy based on which one looks better to you.

My sig has me wearing the Grey Side at 44 which is a lot of watch. The moon watch is the right size.
Now I am looking for my first Rolex, any suggestions?

Thanks everyone. Will keep you posted on what I'm going to do. I'm going to stop by an AD tomorrow and try both on to see what happens...

I wear a 14060 as my daily...early 1990s watch. It's great. After the Speedy Pro my next Rolex purchase will probably be a SEL GMT.

I would go with the 42mm Speedy. I have a GMT Master ll and there is a nice contrast in feel when I put on the Speedy. Keeps things interesting.

It's about personal preference. You are going to get votes for both. My wrist is the same size. I compared the same two watches back in January. The 39.5mm numbered edition was the clear winner and it got me hooked on the 321 straight lugs. Perfect for wrist and my style. Looks proportionate. FWIW 37-40mm is my range. IMG_4792.JPG

39mm could look small with the rest of your body.
    Here's my 42 on my 7,5

I would go for 42mm, it looks pefect on my 6.75 wrist. I changed to a white dial though not correct for my speedy.
