For sale comes my 1969 Speedmaster with 220 misprint bezel in excellent condition. I'll go through the watch step by step:

Case: I'm not an expert but this case is in great condition. I believe it to be unpolished and all of my pictures are taken in direct sunlight to show the original brushing and lines are all still intact. Lugs and edges are sharp. The pushers and crown are original. You can see the age of the pushers in the notches between the pushers and the case.

Caseback: Of note - the caseback is a service pre-moon caseback. Minus a few surface scratches it's in great condition. Although it doesn't have the 69 stamp these service casebacks look great.

Dial: Is flawless with a light mint patina which is very common on the later 69 Speedmasters. No lume loss whatsoever and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a step dial in better condition. The patina color is almost impossibe to photograph accurately on my iPhone. In the pictures it comes across as a darker color than it is in person. Pictures don't do it justice and it looks even better in the metal.

Hands: In really good condition. The tritium on the hands has aged to a nice, dark taupe color and the white paint has aged to a nice cream color. There is no lume loss on the hour, minute or chrono hands. The paint color on the hands matches the sub register hands as well. The darker lume is common to the age of the watch and further, it shows that everything is original and has not been re-lumed in any way to match the hour markers.

Bezel: Not going to go into too much detail on the 220 bezel as this forum is well aware of what they are. The production date on the watch (which is listed on the included extract) is in line with the 220 3 mo. production. The bezel is in really good condition. The edges are dent free. The main source of surface scratching is in the 60-80 area which is pictured clearly.

Strap: Brand new Hodinkee aged leather gray strap with black edge paint. The light gray strap pairs with the taupe tritium perfectly, the white thread matches the white Omega text and the black edge paint matches the black Speedmaster dial. An excellent pairing.

Service: A big benefit that the next owner won't have to be worried about. Completely disassembled, cleaned, oiled and adjusted by my local watchmaker here in Oklahoma on Aug. 9th 2019 and the service receipt is included. Comes with a 1 year service warranty.

Extract: Direct from Omega showing the production date of Sept 8th, 1970. Included in the purchase.

Reason for Selling: Something I always ask as a buyer. Absolutely nothing is wrong with this watch and it was my first vintage Speedmaster. I'm going to be sad to see it go but I have decided to go after a 321 Speedmaster a few years prior to this 69 and unfortunately, in order to do so I'm going to have to raise part of the funds by selling this one.

Final Notes: the chrono hand resets perfectly to 12 o'clock. I ran the chrono a bit and stopped around 18 seconds so the viewers can clearly see all of the Omega painted text in the pictures.

Also, I can send movement pictures if someone wants them from when my watchmaker serviced the watch. I don't feel comfortable posting a picture of the movement with the serial number for all of OF to see but pics available upon request.

Anyone looking for a near collector condition 69 Speedy without a near collector price, I would say this is your watch. I can go on and on about it in my listing but the pictures tell the true story - it's in amazing condition. I'm hoping it finds a good home.

PRICE: $5,500 net to me (so add shipping) USD with PayPal F&F

I don’t typically write on other people’s sale ads, but since it’s his first sale here I’ll make an exception. I’ve sold two watches to @CoDiffe and he is a great guy to work with.

This is a lotta watch for the money. Good luck with the sale!

Have had many PM's with @CoDiffe - about this watch as well, he is a great guy. The price is a steal for anyone wanting a pre-moon back Speedy that is serviced and ready to go.
