We aren’t experts in the watch field but we do know a little about the watch and know that’s it’s a rare piece (small crown). It’s the 1957 6536-1. The insert is missing which is a shame but the rest of the watch is outstanding original & working condition. We do know the original hands have been repainted illuminum.

    Any guidance would be appreciated

Ok. Sorry for the joke. Sometimes we get dealers here who just want to take information iso contribute to OF. Anyway, I'm not a Rolex guy but we have enough members who know rolex and will soon chime in.

Thank you. No I’m definitely not a dealer - I need some straight advice as I know it’s of value but don’t want to be ripped off.

Just if someone know a rough ball park figure we saw a few online that are in lesser condition. The insert is missing but we do know the original insert had a red/triangle. We have been offered £10k for this watch in its current state but we think it may be worth more than that. Any help/ advice would be appreciated.

Well. It's good that you did'nt sell it for 10k. Do you have more pictures (also from the inside)? All angles.

Case is ok. Dial is nice. GBP 10k is not bad. Bezel is missing (and an expensive part). Forget about the ones in the le monde edmond: different class.

Yes I saw that article that’s why I need to check. I will of course take it somewhere but the more info before I do would be great so I’m not talked around the corner we aren’t greedy but want a fair price for it. I inherited it from my grandad it’s been passed down from my father it’s been safely stores in a draw for over 40 years
    And is still working perfectly.

I was told the bezel is still there it’s the insert that’s missing.

No a watch specialist opened it for me confirmed that it’s all original. Has the signatures and years inside back plate when it was serviced.
