    Good evening boys and girls,

I have been doing a bit of research on this watch, dial and hands look correct to my limited knowledge......but that bezel just looks wrong, something about the 50 mark.
Or is it just a slight variant as it seems a lot of changes were made on this watch series?
    Appreciate any input.

Are you asking about the bezel, or the insert?

Probably not even a Rolex insert. Owner just threw something in there.

    Doesn’t look correct for a 6536 or a 6536/1

Agreed that this is not a Rolex Sub insert. What is you goal regarding the insert? If you are looking for the correct insert, it would probably be a red-triangle, and the price would be astronomical, if you can even find one. Or are you just looking for an insert that would be a plausible service part for this watch? In that case, you just want some sort of 60s or 70s fat-font insert, and I'm not sure it really matters which one you use, since it wouldn't be original anyway. Even there, you're probably looking at about $2k USD, but at least they are readily available.

Thanks for the help, ideally I would like to get the watch back to period correct condition, but like you say that is going to be very very expensive! I did find one red triangle insert in really good condition but it’s $30k, just an amazing price!!!! To make it wearable I’d agree it’s probably best to fit a plausible service insert. A couple of members have already offered some options. So I think I will just continue the hunt for a red triangle insert at a “reasonable “ price and see if I get lucky!

This is why I couldn’t even consider dipping into vintage territory...eye watering prices.

Year 2000-2011 is my sweet spot for Rolex.
    Pre-ceramic and post tritium..

Not correct, you could fit a long five on it to be as close as possible without having to spend a huge amount of money.

Yes I saw that when it was relisted exactly the same description but added the word “aftermarket”!
