60yr old plus, Omega with moon phases

I have a stainless omega probably at least 60 years old. It has day, month, day of month and phases of moon, which can all be set via three tiny buttons on outside rim.
button at 2 o'clock sets month
button at 4 o'clock sets day of month
button at 8 o'clock set phase of moon
I would have expected button at 19 o'clock to set day of week

The crown is either in or out (to move hands)

Can't find how to set day of week. Any ideas?

I have an Oris date pointer and to advance the date you pull the crown half way out. You then rotate the crown clockwise. You can only advance, you can’t reverse the date.

Mind you, I’d owned the watch for about a year before I discovered how to do it.

Your Omega mechanism my, of course, be different.

Just advance the time with the crown out.

If I remember correctly it changes after midnight and then go further until 1.xx and reverse back until before 10 and then repeat for "quick" change of the day.

Also the date indicator should advance then.

I always adjust day of the week on these old calibres by winding through the complete 24 hour cycle. It can be a little time consuming but better that than to end up with movement problems and calendar parts issues.

As an aside, I was told repeatedly to make sure the hands are pointing down when setting the day and month.

You are correct. I eventually worked it out. Thanks.
