60th anniversary railmaster

Although I have no regret with the RM, I had a chance to see the seamaster recently and I was smitten. If I had to do it again, I'd taken the seamaster first and RM at a later date. Now I'd have to save up for the SM .. if they'll be available when I'm ready.. 3 thousand pieces is alot so I'm hoping...

If I didn't have a PO 8500 and a Seiko SKX, I would have certainly ordered the 300LE. I'm done with divers at this point so I chose the RMLE. Having said that, I believe that the Ck2913, Ck2914 and Ck2915 re-issues are the best products Omega has in its entire line up. You can't go wrong with any of the Trinity. Good luck on getting that 2nd piece!

The Railmaster is so versatile. Can dress it up or down with different strap combinations.

As versatile as the RMLE is, it doesn't pop with light colored straps (unless you want that totally subdued vintage look). Its greyish dial matches perfectly with black, maroon and dark brown leather straps. It's not like the Moonwatch that looks good on literally anything (thanks to the solid black bezel and dial).

I'll give the RMLE a strap monster score of 8.5 out of 10. The SM300 and Speedmaster re-issues have greyish dials, too, so either won't beat the Moonwatch in versatility.

I got tired of testing various straps on the RMLE, so no pics for now. 😀

I'm glad you liked it, gentlemen! Thanks for the kind words. It's a custom strap made by a friend of mine with the specification of the OEM leather strap except the thickness . I'll give the link to this page so my friend can contact you directly.

By the way, the color of the strap actually came a bit flat and I had to apply a thin layer of shoe wax to make it look really good. It's sort of like buying a nice pair of quality shoes and spit shining it. Also, I have ordered a 16mm NOS vintage buckle for this. I'll post pics when the project is complete.

The RMLE with reddish brown strap looks fantastic in the metal. As good as the pic is, it doesn't do this setup justice. Hope you guys post more strap pics of the RMLE for us to enjoy!

I’m on prohibition also but console myself with the SM300LE in the meantime which makes it easier to bear. 😁

As for that pretty SM300LE, I could imagine you dipping in the pool (300m deep?) more than usual to justify your decision to leave your precious little one at home. 😁

Seriously, the RMLE might have been the only one you needed in the Trilogy after all. In my case, it’s the only watch I need, period.

In that case I have to disagree, my friend. Although most people would see this differently I’m quite sure you agree that the RMLE and SM300LE are totally different watches especially when you have it on a strap or NATO. And therefore it’s an additional joy to have the Seamaster in my collection.

The only challenge is to distribute all my love evenly. 😎
