60’s Clinton skindiver aka the Lewinsky

Up today is my Clinton Skindiver, nicknamed “The Lewinsky” by a prominent Australian member here….the joke tells itself.

Don’t get too excited, it’s chrome plated and needs a service.

Chrome plated case measures 36x41mm and is in surprisingly good shape.

Back says what it needs to say

The star on this watch is the glossy black dial and indices

I had the watch cleaned up when I got it and replaced the crown (correct to the original with fresh gasket) and crystal (divertite) which included a little spot clean and lube (by hobbyist friend- not watchmaker). It ran well and kept decent enough time.
I pulling it out of the drawer a few days ago and it will keep time while wearing it (albeit a minute or two fast in a day), but stops after a few hours overnight on the dresser with half a wind left. Give it a shake and it will continue running well until it runs down totally. So it is due for a real service to get it consistent- or it may work itself out if worn daily-who knows.

It is a slow set date- as in your have to go all the way around the Calender. If this is a deal breaker for you, then there ya go. If you couldn’t care what the date is or enjoy setting the date while sitting on the toilet- bully!

No clue what movement is in it, probably something cheap, but most likely serviceable. If you want this watch, then you are buying it eyes wide open- may run fine, may stop, no assurances. It’s cheap for a cool vintage diver with sword hands, triangular indices and tons of Tritium.
Obligatory wrist shot:

Price is $85 shipped within conus (outside of US I’m happy to talk) which is about what I have into it with the new crystal and crown and the 11ish dollars it will cost me to ship it. The vintage tropic style strap is NOT included…c’mon, it’s worth more than the watch.
I have feedback and references here, happy to answer any questions you may have- except if it has to do with blue dresses, White House interns or what is the meaning of “is”.

Would you take a full print copy of the Starr Report in trade? Asking for a friend

Congratulations. You'll be enjoying a cigar to celebrate the sale, I take it?

Not when someone throws an ashtray at my head.
Which BTW was a long time coming, surprised Hilary hadn’t chopped his dick off years earlier.

Watch has been sold to a well known member who is adding this to his collection of presidential watches. He is still on the lookout for:

Nixon Waterking
Regan Starseeker
Bush Strategery
Carter Meanswell (with unbreakable mainspring)
Johnson Ballmaster
The Trump Winner isn’t hard to find as those are gold plated with fake jewels on the dial and don’t run reliably- but are available at the finest outlet stores at 90% off

Oh, it will pop up again. Just when you think it’s finally gone.
