Armed with cigarettes and a glass of red wine, he does keep a watchful eye on the property. Semi-retired, he needed a place when we needed a tenant. It's been a perfect fit for 5 years. And he gave me a vintage Omega. He can stay!
Revival... Wore the ol' 565 today. After weeks (months maybe) wearing 40-42mm watches, I was pleasantly surprised this (34mm) didn't seem all that small on my 7.5" wrist... ...but I really missed having a chronograph today. Think I have a fever...and the only cure is NOT more cow bell...!
My non-quickset date pie pan is the only reason I bought a watch winder. If I didn't wear it for a few weeks I'd be in for about half an hour of spinning through the date
Is that a Seamaster pie-pan? A Connie pie-pan has at least a semi-quick date and shouldn't take that long.
With the 561, date can be changed by moving the hour hand past midnight then go back to just before 9PM then go forward to past midnight and repeat until the current date. There's no need to go full circle 24 hours. The older 504 can be adjusted with moving just between 11pm and midnight, while the newer 564 is quicker by just pulling the crown out and in and out.
Far out, just tried that and you're right. Awesome. You have no idea how much time I've wasted over the years winding this thing.
