550 series center wheel bushing 6107

Currently working on a 564 that is completely full of oil, and found that this particular one has a tiny little bushing that had fallen out of the center wheel.

A bit of detective work led to me thinking that it should be the center wheel bushing 6107, however looking into what data sheets I can find I no longer see this part listed, and I can't say I have noticed this bushing on any other 550 series movements I have worked on in the past.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the advice on using this bushing has changed?

EDIT: and nevermind me, I found the answer in a post by Archer from a few years back, https://omegaforums.net/threads/movement-evolution.117856/

now to hunt out a newer center wheel with the integral bushing

IIRC, the tiny bushing you refer to is in the bore of the centre wheel arbor, and the centre sweep seconds pinion fits through it. This washer looks like a tiny balance wheel timing washer. Do you have a timing washer that might fit?

I actually found it as it was loose in my cleaning basket, and as that basket only had the train wheels in it I had the theory it was a bushing, and a bit of a google even gave me a part number to compare with.

for now I may just press it back into the center wheel, as my 550 series parts box is lacking one of these.

I'll set up the microscope later and take a pic

The sheet for the 564 says this part of the base caliber 563 is the same.

Hope that helps.

Success comes when opportunity meets with preparation. 😀 A good outcome indeed!

As noted this is a common issue, and why Omega changed the design of the wheel to eliminate the bushing entirely. Chances are it's not going to stay installed if it's already fallen out once...

The other center wheel I have in my parts box doesn't appear to have the integrated bushing, so I wasn't sure if it would be better to go with this one or the one with the bushing.

If the one you have in the parts box doesn't have the integrated bushing, does it have the separate bushing intact? If so, and it hasn't already fallen out (and is otherwise in good shape) I would use the one that hasn't come apart.
