Since I'm fairly new to UG, I'm wondering what model this one might be..

I am still considering purchase at a sub- $700 price..

This watch's cal. 332 has just had a full service (since the photos). Any helpful comments are certainly appreciated.

Attractive watch. Everything looks evenly patinated. Don't know much about these. They are not a collector focus so might be good value. Price seems ok if you can get it for 500 or so. I paid that for this 263 in Jan and then put $200 into a service. I wear it quite a bit. I just love the warm patinated glow it emits.

Who knows what might happen in the future? In the meantime patina heaven for the right price.

Polerouters aside, UG three handers are unexplored territory...

That's a good looking watch, btw

Nice looking watch. I like the military 24H dial. Pretty unusual. Is $700.00 a fair price ? Not really sure but it is not too far off. I would like to see case back markings.

What I like about @dougiedude 's watch is the apppied logo and numerals, the overall patina of the case and the dial. It all works with great wrist presence. Would be great to see the case back. Dean, my 263 is ref 20721 sn 1049012. Sala page 82 called "the outdoorsman" in a Henry Stern advertisement.

+1 for the price to be around $500.

Your watch has a nice case Larry, I've got one of those as well. Real solid 35mm stainless steel case, same case maker as the ref 22290 Aero-Compax that I used to have.

Yep ..same case back. This was my first UG, my least expensive vintage and frequently on my wrist.

    Wait a minute.

Are you telling me that Salas book has a section about non-chronograph UGs? I never considered buying the book because I though it was only aimed at chronographs.

@dougiedude nice one but perhaps a little expensive. For you to decide but I would try to get the price down a little. 700$ is Polerouter territory.

No you need to scan the advertisements. Sala is just for referencing Chronographs sadly. There is great history in the book. Lots of advertisements which are cool and informative. It's fun just to read. But I agree it's a massive investment if you are not collecting Chrono's .

Love that watch! Had mine on a leather NATO for a while and changed it back to the Hodinkee calf skin I bought for it. I like the way your watch looks on that strap.

Its a great watch to wear around, and not worry too much like if I wear one of my Tri-compax! !

The case on those Aerocompax has extremely fat lugs ( Fancy ), my 24 hour case is a bit different more traditional Calatrava style than my Aero-Compax , both screwback .

I'm struggling with the idea of simple 3-handers in 32-33mm cases selling for $500 unless you're buying from a dealer who has actually serviced the watch and offers an appropriate warranty. Clearly it depends on your risk appetite but with the willingness to buy from places like Italy on Ebay, possibly forego the benefits of Paypal (only done this once and in Germany) and lots of patience (lots) there are some real gems out there.

This one for under €100 and the fact that German sellers, legally, cannot be forced to offer paypal as a payment method. Hasn't missed a beat.

This for about $150 but, to be fair, with service costs put it more into the $400 category.
9ct for $200. Dial is duff but I think I've sourced an NOS replacement and fingers crossed as it will be looked at very shortly (you know who you are!)

Italian railroad for under €100 but servicing puts it more like $400
    [IMG]
And Wilhelmina for under $300 all in.
As has been said, $700-800 is Polerouter or even 18ct Golden Shadow territory.

They are out there, gents, but please keep out of my way. It also clearly helps to have a small wrist; these are all worn regularly.

Nice Wilhelmina @Carlton-Browne, I like those! (Dibs maybe?).

I bought the one below from Ebay but the balance is dead and with the case back marked "Enversteel" I had not realized from the pictures that it was chrome plated, with the chrome starting to lift on the edges, and even the crystal is the wrong size.
My watchmaker advised to forget about it... but if anyone finds a functioning 258 movement that's really cheap I might revisit the issue some day because I like the dial and shape.

Sylvie, as you well know, there's no dibs on that one.

I hate to abandon lost causes but the mechanical issue with yours together with the plated-case doesn't sound like it has much of a future. Based on anecdotal evidence (years of Ebay searches), UG has a much higher proportion of solid stainless cases in the 30s and 40s compared to others so it really shouldn't be too difficult to find something better. I even have an 18ct ladies in a drawer that I paid less than scrap for.
