Hi all, I'm new to the omega forum. I have recently developed an itch for watches. My current inventory lists 1. Omega Seamaster Professional Chrono Diver from 2002 2. Jaeger Lecoultre Master Compressor Memovox 3. Rolex Precision pocket watch (stainless steel) from 1948 4. Aquastar Regate yacht timer from the early 70's and my most recent purchase, a 1950 Omega Seamaster bumper cal 343. I fear that I may have been a bit eager in buying it. Please give me your informed opinions as to the honesty of this watch.
Looks good to me, albeit a bit polished. I believe these early chronometer seamasters are rather rare, so that's a pretty solid catch.
Can you take a better photo of the writing on the dial flat and square on. A link to the FS listing would be good also, as you have the movement photos from there do you have the rest.
The lume in the wrist shot looks a lot newer then the lume in the sales pics. From this era shouldn't the lume be radium? The wrist shot looks like tritium or superluminova (although I think better high-rez dial pics will help). The 'Seamaster' text is worrisome to me, but I have very little knowledge about the watches from this era. I would need to hit AJTT tonight to look.
The subdial indices appear a little too thick as well. But I have been told that I have been overly strict as well. Hope to see the close up photo of your dial, squared to the front.
No expert here, but it looks excellent to me. Probably a bit polished, but I’m sure looks great on the wrist. What is the diameter?
