50s/60s Era? - Omega Tiffany & Co - Anyone Provide Info On This Watch?

    So,

My dad gave me a box of watches. In it I found a few pretty cool finds. A real Omega Sea Master "Pre-Moon Watch" which he said he picked up in the 70s for $125. In my excitement I rushed to the jeweler and dropped it off for cleaning.... After picking through the rest I found this gem.

I think it is gen. My dad (and my self) really know nothing about watches but he said he got it from my grandfather 20-25 years ago. Strap is trashed. I think it is an Omega DeVille from the 50s. Trying to find one with the same face... Any help would be nice.

I've seen a few of these. It's from the late 1960's or early 1970's. Tiffany dial looks correct to me. Gold plated top and steel back with a cal. 102X movement.

The name doesn't bring a lot of extra money like it does on some Rolex models.

    Hope this helps,

1972 or later. The 102x was introduced then. You can tell by the divider between the day & date - the 75x series that preceded it did not have that divider.

You know the Pre-Moon Speedmaster needs special care to ensure it isn't polished and doesn't have any parts replaced right?

In fact I would get that Moon watch back ASAP, there is nothing a jeweller can do on that watch that is good, they're likely going to polish it badly and hurt its value in the process, that's a watch you only give to a watchmaker that specialised in vintage pieces.

Any Idea what a decent value would be?

As far as the pre moon goes, I'll check with the place I dropped it off.

The value on this De Ville isn't a huge amount, most likely a couple hundred or so as it sits. If the moonwatch is in good shape, its worth dramatically more

Pre Moon value? Depending on condition and age, multiple thousands. Please don't let them touch it until we can advise you. These places generally don't know or understand that polishing, changing bezels, hands, crowns, dials or scratching them up ( many watch makers scratch up dials) can cost you thousands. If it came with a metal band that can be very valuable too, even if broken.

Just to qualify, Cicindela is talking about the Speedmaster Moon Watch here, not the one you posted pictures of.

I am going to keep the Speedmaster, sentimental value as it was my fathers. (Everyone deserves a watch from their dad!) I will post some pictures when I get it back.

More concerned about the one pictured. I will never wear it and if I did it would be ugly on my wrist.
