I've been on the prowl for a 42mm PO with 2500D movement for a bit now and I think I'm going about this the wrong way. At first I've only been looking for the 2209.50 but it occurs to me that there are different model numbers for the Orange bezel and orange numbers PO.

So question 1, what model numbers represent the 42mm Orange bezel and orange numbers PO with a 2500d movement.

Question 2, am I correct in my research that a good indication that it is a 2500D is the serif on the "1", 85 mil or higher serial, and layered date window. I ask about this because I found a 2909.50 with a serif on the 1 and a layered date window but it had an 81 mil serial number.

Finally, what if I take a 2201.51 and swap the bezel. If it is a full kit is it still considered a 2201.51 or did I just Franken it?

All I want is the head, what are my options?

    TIA

The most important for a 2500D movement is the serial is past 8525xxxx and you can clearly see the sharper and smaller font of the D series in the date window

I would be very cautious about using the font of the date indicator as a sure tell. I have already had enquiries asking me if the date indicator from the D will work on the C (and yes it will)...draw your own conclusions about what the intended purpose of those questions were...

This is why I wanted to make sure that the serif on the 1, and the sr. # were good tells. I've run across a couple of POs with serifs but 81,X sr. #.

    Thanks Al

If you need me to confirm the variant of a watch you are seriously considering, PM me the serial number and I'll check it for you.

    Cheers, Al

Thank you Al. I'm most likely going to post a WTT in hopes of a find. Until I can clean up my schedule though, I've just been hitting the usual suspects.
