·Up for sale is a pristine ref. 3205 40mm caliber 15 Longines chronograph in stainless steel.
This is one of the very finest examples I've ever seen.
The caliber 15, based on the Valjoux 22GH, was an interesting transitional movement seen only for a few years in the mid 1930's before the release of the caliber 13zn. It is finished to a very fine standard, as befitting early century Longines.
I strongly believe this was originally sold in Japan, but I do not have an extract from Longines.
These are relatively uncommon watches. I've seen one other example in this configuration, with the only difference being the hour and minute hands. It's only 5 serial numbers apart! It sold for around $10,000 USD, not counting auction fees and I think my example is the more handsome of the two.

The watch measures 40mm in diameter! A shockingly "modern" size, and much too large for me. 😁
The watch is in good running order, with all chronograph functions working properly. That being said, its service history is unknown. I'd highly recommend a service for regular use.
Included in an essentially brand new leather fixed lug strap.
I'm asking $8,500 USD + shipping or best offer, preferably by bank wire. Based in the USA. I have plenty of references on this site to check out, if you like.
The dial and hands are very well preserved.
Due to its rarity, I haven't been able to find a lot of high resolution images of the caliber 15 online, so I'm glad to have taken some.
Being a mid 1930's wristwatch, you can see the charming transitional features. Wires lugs... hinged double caseback...
