39.5mm PO help please

Hi Folks,
I have really taken to the PO GMT model number 232.30.44.22.01.001. However, I feel the size of the 43.5 will be too high off the wrist. I was under the impression that it was available in 39.5 but cannot find any information online to support this.

Can anyone help please? It would be appreciated

As I have been trying to decide on a PO I know there s a 215.30.40.20.01.001 that is a 39.5 version which appears current using a 8800 calibre, as much as I know I'm afraid.

Thank you, this is the one I am familiar with. The bezel is different and doesn’t have GMT on the face.
Hoping someone may have further input, the watch is circa 2015

as far as I know there is no 39.5 GMT PO available on omega's site. is it what you're looking after ?
you have a nice search function on omega's site "time zone function" and you will find everything that's gmt or jumping hour hand.
would be nice to see a 39.5 PO with the 8900, don't even know if this is technically doable.
cheers

Thanks for the comment. I hadn’t realised the omega site could be navigated like that. The closest option seems to be the more recent PO GMT with the black white bezel. Only seems to be available in 43.5. Perhaps I should try one for size locally

Being new / late to Omega I have learned a lot from Watchfinder, I study the models, find the Omega reference then search the official site to get the specification of calibre, size, etc etc. Now I know everything about the Planet Ocean.....Ok maybe 5% 😁

As far as I know, the smaller case is not available in the GMT. I went to our local Omega boutique and tried on the current 43.5mm GMT on my 7" wrist and it felt great (rubber strap). That was enough to convince me that the 43.5 would not be too big. I have the original design (black dial and bezel) 43.5 GMT incoming this Friday. Don't get me wrong, it is a large watch, but not so much that it is uncomfortable. I have a G-Shock that is 15.5mm thick with 49mm case and it also feels great on my 7" wrist. I will post a pic once it arrives.

I have a late first gen 2201.50 which I trust to be a 2500 calibre and a 43.5mm 215.30.44 that should be a 8900 calibre (fingers crossed I did my homework correct) coming tomorrow or the next day to try. I hope I dislike one of them😲

I think you're screwed and are going to love both of them!

Thank you, that really would be appreciated. I think it is the height that is more of a concern and whether it would fit under the cuff of a shirt and jacket

Just so you know the PO 43.5 has a jumping hour hand, which is great when traveling unless you really need to monitor a second time zone.

I received my PO GMT (43.5mm) today and it is beautiful and feels great on my 7" wrist. It looks bigger in pictures than it actually does in person. The rubber strap is a perfect match for this watch.

With that said, the bezel action is lacking in precision of other dive watches I own (Rolex Sub, Christopher Ward Trident). It is acceptable, but not what I would call exceptional.

Thanks to you both. I have 7” wrists and i think it is probably too big for me, especially in height.
I will perhaps take a look at a 39.5 but favoured the bracelet. I appreciate you sharing the photos
