Hi all, I recently bought a lovely 3592.50 from early 90's (serial 48,27xx). I noticed while surfing on the web that there are different types of bezel for this reference. - one with "Tachymetre" writen without accent (mine is with this bezel) - one with "Tachymètre" writen with an accent What is the rule ? Is there a specific period for each ? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. gilel
Mine is a 1991 and it is without the accent like yours….mine also has the “long R” dial….My understanding is that the later ones had the accent bezel and went to short R dials.
One additionnal clue that I founded on https://www.watchbooksonly.com/articles/watch-reviews/steel-speedmasters-with-display-back/ It seems that 3592.50 with Apollo XI inscription on the caseback are without accent (1990-1995). Then the inscription is replaced by PROFESSIONAL and Ω OMEGA (1995-1997), and the insert has an accent. Is it the rule ? gilel.
According to the Moonwatch Only book the bezel changed in 1995 with the addition of the accent on Tachemetre. Few other differences - will post book extract.
No doubt there’s other info available but this confirms that both bezels are appropriate for the 3592.50.
Hi all, Interesting additional info from Fratello (Speedy Tuesday – Differences in Speedmaster Bezels). That seems to be easy, right? Well, wrong. gilel
