3520.50 date hand style question

I have noticed a variation between date hands and can't find any resources showing when it was changed. One variation has the "jet" shaped hand while the other has the simple arrow hand. When was this changed and were there any other changes? Was there any other reason than aesthetics?

Also, this is my first post so I will introduce myself. My name is Jay and watches are my weakness. I work in sports medicine and also run a small business on the side. While I prefer a classically styled watch I was intrigued by the complications in this variation so I jumped on a good deal.
    Thanks for any help.

    Your watch is a 3220.50, 40mm

The 3520.50 is older, at 39mm

Nice watch never seen that one. I've seen the older one many times.

Well that definitely answers my question and is why I couldn't find any answers after spending a couple hours searching forums.

Interesting to see this thread. About a month ago I saw my boss wearing the following watch (I snapped a quick picture with my iPhone when he left the room for a few minutes). I wasn't familiar with this model and now I see it being discussed in this thread.

He said he bought it a long time ago. He has many nice time pieces but this was the first time I'd seen him wearing an Omega.

The 35205000 uses the Cal. 1151, where the 322505000 uses the Cal. 3606. Both are based on the ETA 7751. Solid watches...

Thanks for all of the clarification. Looks like I got an even better deal than I thought considering the 3606 goes for a bit more.

Usually a $500 difference, at least based on my store stats

There is only one thing better than a new watch, getting a great deal on one.
