So since the beginnings of my Omega watch collecting 20 years ago I've always had the desire for a 33.3 chrono. With their beautiful 1930's and 40's styling and a case diameter of around 38mm they are a substantial watch with considerable wrist presence.

I can remember looking lovingly at the beautiful photo's of them in first the Goldberger book, then online, then in AJTT and finally whilst visiting the mothership itself, the Omega Museum in Bienne. To me they always felt a little out of my reach, both difficult to find a good one and also above my comfort zone with regard their pricing.

Well life's too short so I recently decided to sell off (quite) a few lesser worn pieces and make a concerted effort to get one of these chrono's on my wrist and so with the help of a very knowledgeable and accommodating OF member I managed to finally fulfill one of my collecting aspirations

Here's my new arrival, a CK 987 with a 9.6 million serial from around 1939 or so, I love the olive pushers and crown design and with it's sharp case and evenly patinated dial it's just what I was hoping it would be 😀

Couldn’t have gone to a more deserving collector. The Omega of new could really learn something from the Omega of old with respect to pieces like this. Simply fabulous…

Absolutely stunning, definitely a hallmark in the history of Omega, Tissot and Lemania as well. The Father of the 321,eh?

No jealousy (I think), just grateful to see on the wrist of one of us.
Dibs? I can't afford it but I would offer my personal iou.

Absolutely gorgeous. Look at those pushers. This is what stunning, thoughtful design is all about.

I've always longed for one but seem to be "priced out".

What ballpark or range do these usually go for these days? All the ones I've seen are north of 15k USD...but perhaps I am looking at the wrong places/sources.
