·Hello all, first time Omega watch owner and forum poster here. I recently got my hands on a full set 2007 Speedmaster Triple calendar chronometer from Chrono24, seen here. It has an Omega 3606 caliber movement.
Instead of using the chronometer function at-will or sparingly, I'd like to instead run it indefinitely by syncing the chronometer with noon/midnight, and having the chronometer run as a de facto small seconds counter (in sync with the top 30-minute recorder and the bottom 12-hour recorder)
My question is, would having the chronometer running indefinitely cause accelerated movement wear or affect timekeeping accuracy over time? Or any other consequences I should be aware of? The watch manual doesn't say much on this topic, nor could I find much on this matter here or online. This being my first nice watch, I'm perilously unaware of do's and don'ts and would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you for your time!
