https://www.phillips.com/detail/OMEGA/CH080118/157 This looks like a relative bargain: beautiful bezel, nice dial / hands combo (they are damaged on the edges, but I'd rather have a dial like this than a dubious perfect example) and a nice case. I'd say that 20k$ after fees with a 7912/6 is good value. I haven't seen it in the flesh, am I missing something?
I was a bit surprised as well. Maybe eclipsed by its older, more flashy cousins. nb: bracelet was a 7077, so even more reason we all missed the boat.
This auction made no sense to me. Prices were high for some pretty questionable pieces and low on ones like this. Pretty confusing overall
Agreed. Estimates were all over the place as well. Antiquorum was even weirder. Lots of not solds and sold below low estimates.
I suspect this watch may have photographed better than when held in hand. First, I agree it was very cheap. Perhaps all the money went on the 2915, sold for over $430,000 USD (That Mr Orchi on instagram gave a well reasoned argument that the bezel was non omega). This watch had dirty plots, and the bezel is marked all through. It may not have actually worn on the wrist nicely. I am grabbing at straws - it was cheap. But I cannot for the life of me explain it without holding it. Anyone actually hold it?
I think the lugs may have been redone. Top is brushed, bevels look too big, more like the FOIS case...
