    Not something you see every day, think I'd still prefer yours though ;)

    The bracelet is a bit of a mess but hard to find any issues with the watch.
    The last EBay 2998-1 that I can remember was a member's listing 18 months ago.

    Edit: Of course I was lazy and only looking at the pictures:whipped:
    As others have noted, the seller's description mentions very real dial issues. ::facepalm1::

    Same for me. It is through the Global Shipping Program so I wouldn't do it anyway.

    The dial.

    The value is all in the dial - it is possible to solder feet, I have done it, but there is a risk. At $45k+ its too much as the price is up there with watches without these issues.

    Soldering feet onto dials is a rare skill. I did it on a (then) $3000 chocolate dial and while it worked, I would never do it again. Too much risk. There were two other dials, owned by others, that did not do so well - the heat came through the front and scarred the dial.

    Also I dont respect this shop. How can they call it serviced without removing the dial is beyond my understanding. Clearly it has not been touched by someone who knows what they are doing, and that is also risky.

    At a third of the money I would still hesitate, but I would think hard!

    ..also from the description :

    "The watch was produced in 1959 and is 100 % correct including the 7077 bracelet with 516 end pieces also made in 1959. "

    Listed price was US$46,500, wonder if that was what it went for?

    Probably close to listed price. There wouldn't have been much time for ebay negotiations, and someone wanted it.

    ...or seller read this thread...::stirthepot::

    I was rather dubious when the seller mentioned a "Cold Soldering Technique" can be used to repair the feet. As far as I am aware a Cold Solder is a flawed and mechanically weak imperfect solder. How did you manage to solder the feet without heating up the dial too much and damaging it. I would find the risk unacceptable on a US$46.5K watch.
