Hi, there, Speedmaster 1st, 2915-2 was sold for US$8000 in a Japanese website a minutes ago. Please take a look at the following website. http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n174458039 It looks to me; 1. Dial is not original (1st replica?) 2. Hands are replaced with the 1st replica sold in 1998 3. Bracelet is not for 2915 They said the serial number is 14######. If it is true, the serial number is OK. Is it worth paying or not? What do you think?
wow .... I will be very careful before I buy mine. Looks like even a poor franken / fake can fool a lot of people !
Yeah..... what I would like to say is that it may be acceptable for the people who really wants to get speedmaster 1st with this franken which has 1000 tachy bezel, right case and cal.321 with right reference number for this price, although I did not buy it. Because, as the recent famous Auctions shows, the original 1st cost about $100000. What do you think?
Just buy a 3594.50, 2915-1, replica for $2,000. You'll save a bunch of cash and it will be a correct watch
I think I would rather buy the FOIS or the actual replica if I wanted something that kinda looked like a 2915.
Perfectly serious. The 3594.50 is a replica of the 2915-1 in that the bezel, hands and dial are modeled after the original. Unfortunately, little else about the watch (case, movement) was. It is not highly regarded and many are available in the used market, hence the low price.
Except, twisted lugs... FOIS or '57 would do though.. or if you're into mods, FOIS with 3594.50 bezel and hands..
