Wow. That looks amazing. Wrong bezel though, right? Everything else looks ok to my novice eyes.

Well however appealing, I don't think the lollypop is relevant to this watch. And the missing Base 1000 Bezel is a big thing to get it complete and correct one day...

How about Speedmaster engraved on the caseback? Original?

I'd question mark the pushers but def not an expert here. Guys? Correct pushers or later service replacement?

Wouldn't it be the unobtanium stainless steel bezel?

Let's call it stainless unobtainium steel base 1000 bezel, yes. Hence my thoughts.

Its an interesting watch, wrong centre second and wrong bezel as others have pointed out, whilst you may need to pay through the nose for one you would add the value to you watch and lets address the elephant in the room; perfect 'replica' bezels do exist.

So, on to the watch, I am impressed with it however the case looks extremely sharp for it's age. It has some 'grime' on it but I wonder what that is on the back of the lugs? Grime or pitting? It will go for strong money but then when there are no 2915's on the market people will pay through the nose....... will be interesting to watch it progress

No I mean what appears to be pin head micro marks

    seen here

Im also personally really suspicious of how sharp that case band is, look at the lugs, it looks bloody close to stock

It could be original in just amazing condition BUT the fact it has a later (all be it near perfect) service DON, a lollipop hand (which I'm pretty sure is not correct)

The case just looks too sharp, reminds me of the Christies 50 2915-1 which I think we all agreed has been heavily laser welded and lapped (allbeit very well)

Yep I meant christies not bonhams

Th I am referring to was the 2915-1 which initially sold for 130K im sure you will all remember it, a number of issues including the dial but most importantly the case which had been clearly heavily modified

Bottom line; 2915's are dangerous territory, the value is high, there are so few around and relatively little information (including extracts) available on them that they are easy prey to become 'cobbled together' or incorrect watches

The example show by the OP has issues, still extremely valuable but I am suspicious of the crispness of the case and the lack of some original parts
