Why do they call the 7077 a “bamboo” bracelet?

I guess if the springs are all shot it looks a bit like the actual “bamboo” bracelets of the 40s but it shouldn’t if it isn’t rooted.

And the running seconds hand should not be a lollipop and I believe the crown should be with a Mercedes sign logo. Wrong case back?

Do you knownif it is possible to recondition the springs so the links aren't loose?

Yes. There’s a tutorial on here on rebuilding and a number of people offer the service.

.... the bezel is wrong anyway as a -3 should have a countdown bezel which this isn't

2913-1s perhaps but the large majority of 2913-3s were not issued a countdown bezel.

Indeed your “facts”, the early Omega marketing excerpt, is a half-truth. Perhaps you should recall where you acquired your “evidence”.

When @kox originally posted this https://omegaforums.net/threads/2913-opinions.49017/#post-586836
he cautioned that vintage Omega marketing material is unreliable. On OF, this advice has been repeated numerous times.

Furthermore, nowhere in this 2016 thread does anyone claim that all 2913-3s originally had only countdown bezels.

Thanks for the feedback. I learned a lot. It does look like painted numerals rather than printed. But I'm certainly no expert.

I'm sure I am not the only one to ask this, but if someone has an original bezel they would sell, please contact me. I would love to complete my father's watch (2913-5 with BA hour and lollipop seconds in great condition apart from the bezel insert).

@Patrik83 there is no CHRONO hand , and you are wrong the lollipop was a legit option
I used the wrong word for the running seconds hand, sorry. To many speedmasters 😉. Thanks for correcting me on my wrong assumption that lollipops was not a valid option.
