2531.80 Bezel Alignment

That straight on picture looks misaligned to me. It should be a 120 click bezel, so it should line up every second and half second, and that is more like a quarter. That said, perhaps see if the seller can get you a better picture, perhaps that one is only deceptively straight on/is at a bit of an angle. Fortunately, taking it off and re-aligning it is pretty trivial. I presume it being misaligned is due to a previous service, some folks aren't as careful with that as we would hope!

For example, I had a GMT Master that came from a Tourneau CPO that was off quite a bit (more noticable because it was a 24 click bezel)! Because it was ceramic, I had to have a professional re-align it.

Probably not, photo axe.

But 3k for a shiny bad polished one with blanked/faked papers, miraculous pristine alum bezel... and 0 s/d for a 22 years watch. Sure...

Why so dismissive of the watch? Closer is a major Japanese retailer/ reseller of pre loved watches (and other products). I’m not sure from the pictures if the case has been refinished but it does look in really good condition, as does the bezel. It’s also not uncommon to find blank warranty cards on watches of this era. Closer’s Chrono24 ratings look good to me.

I don't care about his C24 grades. The seller is selling premium price for papers you can find anywhere on the net and a to good to be true watch.

A lots of SMP 300 he sells are the same. Reconditioned to be nice and up prices. And every time no papers or blank. It's not even possible to say if it's originals ones with changed hands and bezel or simply Franken ones.

The second one is probably a Franken. Serial starting with 60XXX with a tritium dial and lum Bezel/Hands...... 4,8 stars. Sure.

The seller has 100s of Seamasters listed for sale so it’s very easy to poke holes at specific attributes of selective watch listings. Some of the listings have stamped warranty cards, some have blank cards and some have no cards; some appear to be keeping excellent time (the first listing) while others don’t appear to be keeping time (the second listing); some bezels are clean others are marked, etc. I’ve bought a number of various Seamaster references from Japan over the years and if you do your homework you’ll find very attractive examples at fair prices. There are many threads on OF on the subject - I’d keep my options open!

Ok, nice for you. I'm not talking about the entire Japanese watch industry...

I just show you that 4.8 stars doesn't mean necessarily good watches taking two exemples of 2531.
