Greetings, I recently spotted this Omega Ref. 2292 (with 30T2 SC) online. Has anyone some more information? Are these hands original? Is this the civilian version of the military 2292? Thanks!

Yes, that is the famous RAF 2292. This one however is different, and I can't find other examples of this exact 2292.

Perhaps the dial and hands are from another watch, the hands do seem to go with the dial.

It seems that the seconds hand has lost its tail.

    A bit short, isn't it?
    Shouldn't it look like that?

OPs watch has a different dial and hand set, so you're not comparing apples to apples, second hand looks fine to me.

Right, dial and hand set are different. But a seconds hand that short usually has the form of a triangle, or not?
The hand here is completely straight. Imho, these hands should have the drop at the tail.

You'll get quicker answers if you start your own thread rather than hijacking one that's 8 months old.

Finding this thread randomly while doing research but worth noting for the record.
The first picture Oku posted is a correct, all origiinal 2292.
The second picture, has a MOD refinished dial from 1956. In 1956 the British ministry of defense refurbished a number of those WWII watches, a program which involved recycling the 1940s WWII era movements, redialing some of the watches, and recasing others. Info from the Military Watch Ressource forum.

The dial with the pointy « 4 » — ie pointy top instead of a flat top — is the MOD redial. The factory original dial has the flat top « 4 » and « swiss made » at the bottom.

those 56 redials are considered legit by military watch collectors as they are part of the military history of the watch- but lslightly less valued.

The model pictured in AJTT is a 1956 redial which is not properly identified as such.
