2254 lume thickness

Hi All,

I'm in the market for the Omega 2254.50 and when looking at the photos of various pieces I noticed that there are two types of lume on the indeces.

Sometimes it's very flat and barely sticks out of the dial, and other times it's very protruding and three-dimensional.
I'm wondering if it's some kind of production years indicator, or maybe one of the types is a service dial. Or something else?

Examples below - top row is the flat type, bottom row is the 3d type.

Following with interest! I am also in the market for a 2254.50 and I have noticed this. After ages of looking at dials from different years I am at a loss. There seems to be no pattern related to age. I also wondered if they were dials replaced during service. I much prefer the thicker lume plots.

I think this is normal variation and all show some thickness to a greater or lesser degree. I've handled dozens of Sword Hands AKA Blake SMPs and there are many variations in lume colour, thickness. The pics you show of the triangle markers above look pretty much the same to me though! Even dial colour varies, most noticeably on the 2255 and 2265 which can seem almost purple on some examples, others a purer blue. I've not noticed any discernible pattern with regard to this. These watches were in production for 8 years and there are bound to be some small differences.
