Just taken delivery of a mint condition 2254.50. It's dated 2008 and looks excellent on the bracelet. Very pleased.

I believe this model did not have the AR coating on both sides, just inside. I have never owned a watch before with AR only on one side (I have owned lots of modern Omegas) and was curious that when looking at an angle at the dial, the crystal looks almost cloudy or hazy. Doesn't bother me, just wondered if that is normal with the crystal on this watch or with watches with AR only on the inside. Thanks

I've noticed that the crystal on mine isn't as good at disappearing as the one on the current Seamaster 300 but I wouldn't go as far as cloudy.

It’s only at a certain angle. Wonder if you replace the crystal if it improves. I’m not sure if this one has its original one installed.

The current Seamaster 300 is AR coated on both sides of the crystal and therefore less visible.
To my knowledge the crystal on your 2254 Seamaster is only coated on the inner side of the crystal. Which is not as effective as both sides. I prefered it even this way, as the outside layer is often prone to scratches.
Honestly, I dont see anything wrong from your photo.

I’ve never noticed cloudiness on single coated SMP crystals but as noted above they are visible in certain circumstances. What you are seeing may be slight reflection or it’s just possible it’s got slight film of dirt or movement lube on the inside which can be improved by a service and clean. Replacing the crystal is expensive so a clean is a better first option.

It's only at certain angles and difficult to photo. Agreed, the photo above does not show it.
