Very interesting piece up for auction.....with a somewhat solid history and provenance. Could you ever wear it with that name on the back?

That's one hell of a piece of history there.

He was an evil bastard for sure! Would I wear it? Yeah.

Fascinating and thanks for the heads up on this app too... Yet another tool to feed the watch addiction.

Invaluable is brilliant for aggregating all the auctions. Otherwise will never hear about a lot of this stuff.

I would not own it. It would be a huge dis to my Jewish friends even if I never told them about it. Still it is a drool worthy watch that sadly was on the wrist of a monster.

Can't blame the watch for what the previous owner did. And as I do not believe in vodoo either I guess it would be OK for me to wear it.
But it would still bring mixed emotions.
If someone on the other hand bought it as a fan-boy item.,,, :whipped:

I was scrolling through the other auction items... It's kind of disturbing to think where the motivation for the "collection" originated from in the first place.
Although there was some more redeemable items such as items related to the Nuremberg trials...

Couldn't possibly own it, even though it's a beautiful watch.

I have family German government documents with swastikas on them and they are SPOOKY as all hell to physically hold. I do have them scanned and online. Google Translate has been very helpful.

military memorabilia is a huge collectors market and this will fly over estimate imo. Personalty I would be more interested in the buyer rather than the watch.

2000-2400$ is a ridiculous estimate for this piece. A piece whitout historical interest would fetch more, and a watch involved in Göring suicide has intrinsical historical value, even their former propietary. The estimate for the brass container of the hydrogen cyanide phial is 20000-30000$. It is much more reasonable that the estimate of the watch.

I only would understand the estimate if the provenience of the watch is not clear.

Honestly, I would buy it, take a sledge hammer to it and then bury it in dog shit.
    But, that's just me.

Is next one Anne Frank's ?. I find that cynical. It makes this watch not attractive

It's a mechanical watch. Not an object of worship or the bastards testies.
Personally I would be able to own such thing as I love the watch (except for the tasteless tag on the back).
I would also have been able to tell people I showed it to what monster that once owned it, and what he did that should never be done again.
If we don't learn and teach history it will most likely repeat itself.

To be honest I hope it is bought by some museum.

I can't see any interest for a museum to own HG's watch. I mean it has no historical importance. it'as not like a signed paper with historical importance.
What annoys me most is these things a collected by neo nazi pricks.

That is where it belongs. Maybe somewhere like the Holocaust Museums in Washington, DC or Los Angeles. If for no other reason than to keep it out of the hands of someone who would worship the evil ideas of the former owner.
