Off topic, but do you lift weights with your watch? Not too uncomfortable?
I have never not worn a watch at the gym. In fact, I wear my watch constantly, only taking it off for airport security! I find
not wearing a watch uncomfortable in the sense that it feels weird and unbalanced.
The SMP is one of the more comfortable pieces, though — the fit is very agreeable to the shape of my wrist; I also added the later style clasp so I can adjust slippage due to AC and pump on the fly. This photo shows it on a nato, which I wore until the clasp arrived as the G10 provides natural stretch and no pinch.
I’ve recently bought the polar EXPII, but it’s not as comfortable — perhaps due to the width of the bracelet or the lack of flexibility in the quick link (which is either 5mm or nothing). I may end up back with the Omega if I can’t get used to the EXPII; I bought the EXPII to wear while the Omega is in service for the aforementioned magnetism and because it’s pretty resistant to magnetism (and generally much more shockproof).
The king of robustness was my Bremont, though. I have a very harsh life and I fairly frequently stall watches or knock them out of regulation (curiously, never because of or at the gym); the Bremont has been the only watch never to have stalled or slipped out of regulation. It was, however, far too tall to fit under shirt cuffs and was knocked more than any other watch I have owned. The SMP has gone out of calibration without any knocks (I don't know why until I get it back).
