Hello, I noticed this a long time ago while searching for a planet ocean 2201.50 (or alternative strap variations) and have never been able to find an answer. I think there are two different dials used by Omega, I cannot seem to pinpoint when they were used or why (for example for the coaxial C vs D time periods...) Take a look at the photos and see for yourself. Variation 1 is the "Slanted R & Aligned SWISS". In this variation, the "R" leg has a slant to it, the "I" in SWISS lines up with the markers and the "12, 6, 9" font is slightly less flared at the ends. Variation 2 is the "Straight R & Offset SWISS". In this variation, the "R" leg is straight, the "I" in SWISS is offset from the markers and the "12, 6, 9" font is slightly more flared at the ends. If yours was new from the AD, what version do you have?
Just a guess: Variation 1 I(Slanted R & Aligned SWISS) > first generation Planet Ocean 2005 Variation 2 (Straight R & Offset SWISS) > later generation Planet Ocean 2009 As seen here: https://www.ablogtowatch.com/planet-ocean-full-story-omegas-iconic-modern-dive-watch/ My 2500 PO on 1171 bracelet
