Hi all, Omega forum newbie here, but I'm not a complete newbie to watches. I am thinking about picking up an Omega 212.30.41.61.01.001 (quartz). While the watch has all the things I want, I find the bezel of the 212.30.41.20.01.003 (auto) far prettier. Can the bezel of the 212.30.41.20.01.003 be installed on the 212.30.41.61.01.001? Apologies if this has been discussed or if this is the wrong forum for this question.
Honestly I'm not sure if it does or doesn't but the actual ceramic bezel could end up costing as much as the Quartz Seamaster itself as a loose part. The old bezels from memory were like 450 or so on their own and ceramic typically increases that quite substantially while the quartz SMPs are not particularly valuable used (assuming you were buying used as its an old model).
If you want the ceramic you really are better off just saving up to get the one you want, if you buy the quartz with aluminium bezel you could end up not enjoying it as much as you'd hoped if it were the practical choice rather than the ideal choice. I had to learn that lesson a few times with watches.
I really want quartz (quick set hour for traveling, accuracy), ceramic would just be the icing on the cake. I currently have a non-Omega auto, but I'd rather have a watch that I only have to set whenever it gets serviced. Style-wide, I really dig minimal dive watches. Looks like I'll have to pick between the 212.30.41.61.01.001 and the 2264 and forget about any modifications. The ceramic bezel would be really nice on the former, while the PlanPro mod would look fantastic on the latter.
