Absolute dog water release.

Omega gave up so much functionality to include 100WR, lume, bracelet, date function, and seconds hand for a .4MM thinner watch.

Throw in the steel is 2.5K more than a Globemaster. The Constellation is my favorite line and look how they massacred my boy.

Own a two tone Globemaster on bracelet, bought ex a 36MM Metas Connie Silk dial, and just recently bought the same one for myself. I got all three for 12,400 USD new grey market.

Omega pre-covid had the right pricing, they have lost the plot. RIP to sales associates that have to move these off shelves. JLC Ultrathin is 2.5MM thinner and 2K cheaper with a moon phase......bruhhhhhhh

Regarding the size, Omega hasn't yet caught up with the body changes from GLP-1 agonists. In a few more years we'll have the "Omega Ozempic" in 32 mm

Oof! Even if I liked this Connie, I'd still take a JLC Ultra Thin Moon any day for the same price, let alone cheaper.

I owned a JLC UTM for years. It’s a beautiful watch, but it’s not perfect. Unless you wear it constantly, it is a real pain in the ass for setting the time and the moon. Also, if you think that Omega is expensive to buy and service, you better get ready for a whole new level of expense for JLC.

We laugh at this, but after seeing how widely the glp-1"s are being administered to the masses, this isn't far off. One of my friends works in the health spa industry, massage therapist. She said some of her clients are using these and in a couple of months become unrecognizable with the amount of weight being dropped.

Not to mention the side effects of their whole system slowing down to a crawl. Bone density loss and old age diseases showing up in young people. The loose skin from the massive weight loss. They look gaunt and unhealthy. It's sad how people who don't really need it because of medical reasons use them.

I used to have one of the original Master Moons...

This was 37 mm and just right for that watch. I don't tend to have many regrets in terms of watch sales, but this comes close.

At the time, I considered the Ultra Thin that JLC made then, which was a whopping 34 mm. This is maybe a little over 20 years ago that a 34 mm watch was considered sort of normal. Today that would be too small for most, so although the sizes have pulled back a bit, I think the average size that people look at has shifted larger overall.

Just as an aside, there is a 34 mm watch I would love to own...here on my wrist...

But I don't think he would ever sell it, since he made it for himself.

But that's my point, Omega is charging more than JLC do now, at least for the two models being discussed. Servicing, well I didn't have an issue with Omega's servicing cost anyway...

I’m not sure how I feel about the dial, particularly those grooves on the outer track.

^^This^^, and it isn't clear if the pie pan is dimensionally deep enough to impress visually.

This watch should have a seconds hand should be thinner and smaller. And the Globemaster shouldn't have been discontinued.

I usually don't worry too much about price, however this watch costs the same as the new Reverse Panda Speedmaster. If people think the speedy is expensive, this one is outrageous.

Theoretically, when Rolex raises prices, all other brands become more attractive alternatives...unless they raise prices too...

Forgive me if someone previously said this, but regarding the size discussion, the impact of case size is different for cases with small bezels and large dials. We know that, but it's easy to forget the impact.

This is 36mm

It's not mine. I tried it on at my local watch shop. I thought it was a 40mm. Just looking at the picture now, I can't believe it's only 36mm.

So the new Connie is 39mm, which on paper isn't huge. But it has an outsize impact. I haven't seen one in person so it might be fine. But I suspect it'll look huge sitting side by side with my 39mm PO.

I thought the 4th gen PO had good proportions. Nothing else is really coming to mind.

The AT 41 and 38 has good proportions on paper but I just don't think it looks right in person. For some reason the older 41.5 and 38.5 versions just look better proportioned.

yes...I have the AT41, and is too thick, would be ok with 39mm and below 13mm thick...also have the SMP300 42mm and not as good as the old bond 41MM which I have, and is excellent in measurements...good old times!
