What do you think about the models coming out ? I’m starting to vibe towards them because getting a Rolex is so hard . It that I am comparing them at all but they are a Rolex brand.

I think if you acquire a Tudor because it's too difficult to get the Rolex you really want, you'll eventually be disappointed. Tudor watches are as fun and interesting as anything out there, worthy of pursuit on their own.

It's a good time to buy pre-owned Rolex watches, which are often much more appealing than the new models anyway.

Most Tudor annoy me as lessor Rolex.
That being said I have the green BB limited edition from Harrods and love it.

I'll give you a nickel if you can name a single post ~2020 Rolex that is in any way more attractive than an older model...

The quirky Air-King has it's charm. The previous 34mm one's too, but a bit too conservative. I'd like a pre-1964 quarter please instead.

Of the current lineup, I only like the BB58 blue. Just wish it had a T-fit clasp. Very solid tool watch.

I think it is difficult. Is Rolex objectively better watches?

Doesn't the phrase "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" apply? If I think post ~2020 Rolex are more attractive than an older model, is that not valid? Nice nickel btw.

I have a bunch of those buffalo nickles...what is their deal?

I have the "old" Tudor GMT. Would I rather have a Rolex (Pepsi) GMT? Hard to say...
It is not like I'm disappointed with the Tudor and it is not like I still lust after the Rolex...

Yes, it absolutely does. My comment was made.. a bit in jest, but it does come across as a bit harsh and tasteless I suppose. I would say that I genuinely find it interesting to read well-written opinions as to why something that I don't find attractive, is attractive... often it helps me modify my own opinion.

I think the new Explorer is a way better looking watch than the older 14270 and 114270 Explorers, especially in low lighting:

I've had an eye open for a GMT watch for a little while now, and I had looked at the Black Bay GMT - but the new BB58 GMT that was just introduced appeals to me more. (I'm torn between that and the Longines Zulu Time 39mm.) I couldn't afford a Rolex GMT-Master, and it doesn't bother me.

Save your self some money and get a Steinhardt, if it a Rolex you really want.

Tudor isn't the poor mans Rolex, it is the rich mans Steinhardt.

This watch encapsulates why I don’t like a Tudor but own one anyway.

the watch is too thick. The crown is ugly and cheap looking.

but every once in awhile they nail a colorway that speaks to you.

I tried to like the first Gen with the eta movement and Tudor rose logo but on wrist it just felt like a cheapened sub.

At least in this colorway it’s pretty unique and can be recognized on its own outside of Rolex

Alright alright- some good points made. I really want to like the larger Rolexes because I tend to gravitate to 41 and 42 mm watches in terms of size. I do like them in advertisement pictures--- but every single time I see one in person there's something about it I just can't gel with. And yet, the dial, case, and aged tritium of a 5513 or 16600 get me every time.

I'm just honestly a very picky bastard when it comes to watches.

To me, the BB54 looks pretty decent. Sizing that's true to the vintage model. No red at 12, no gilt bezel markers. They seem to depreciate a fair bit, so it would be easy to find good deals in the second hand market. There's Japanese sellers on C24 with new stock and good deals sometimes too.

Pelagos 39 design is also appealing to me, but the grade-2 Titanium isn't. Feels like they compromised on materials. I assume that cannibalizing sales from Rolex must be a concern in general.
