Australia is one of the first ones to see, how it feels like ..... We are a blessed country right now , in the middle of Summer. And further away from global troubles , than others. Despite having our fair share of weird characters, most are friendly weird , open minded , strangers ready for a chat with other strangers and open to share our wealth if required. So, all the best to everybody from this Forum , which is a rare collection of other weird, but lovable characters. Stay safe everybody. Achim ..... That Picture was taken a few hours ago at my literally "around the corner" Ocean beach. Share yours.

OK, where exactly 'down under' are you? Most folks don't realise how big Australia is. I've been tempted by New Zealand for a few years now; they're the first to see each new day/year/etc, but it's still damn expensive (not that Australia isn't, except in very rural areas)

Lots of healthy envy from me.
I've never been downunder, I would like very much to.
Best wishes from a disturbingly warm Rome, I have never felt this warm on a december, 31st.
This is taken live from the downtown apartment I'm now.

So, just finished watching 15 minutes of the amazing Sydney Harbour Fire works. Over 1 million in person watchers around the Harbour. If you can, stream it on the Net. Worth every second ; with the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge center stage. The music to that spectacle was by a local Australian DJ , KLP and the Space Cadets. Noting old, nothing elborate. Just pure fun for a young country. Haven't been that proud to be here in years. Stay safe everyone.

Oh, you have snow! Where is this location? From the architecture I guess somewhere in Carinthia?

This pic was taken a few weeks ago. Not to far away from Carinthia. Our weekend house near St. Marein, close to the Red Bull Ring

Kind regards Max

Thanks, Achim! Happy New Year!
Would have loved to have been on board in the harbor.

Happy New Year, Achim, it's good to see someone sounding so content, so I wish you another good year in 2023. I think this photo out my window contrasts with Achim's quite dramatically, and illustrates the international nature of OF. Unfortunately, the mountains are obscured, that would have been perfect.

And now: I can reveal the actual outlook for 2023 , as seen from my window, on New Year's Day morning : The Sun is out ! That may be our guidance for 2023 . To all of you, who are still waiting for Midnight to happen....

Still 5-1/2 hours to go until New Years here on the east coast of the US. The Austria photo brings back memories -- my one trip there was for Y2K New Years. Wasn't sure if we'd be able to fly back home afterwards, but turns out the world did not end, and most computers were fine.

I did that twice in the last 22 years. Unreal....
