Looks like young lance not only bombed out in Q2 but assaulted his trainer in a temper tantrum. Was then a stroppy little twit in the press pool, feels like he doesn’t want to be there anymore.

McLaren being put back should make for an interesting race for second place. Still amazed that the rest of the field after Norris is .5 seconds off Red Bull. Adrian Newey definitely needs to be knighted.

I saw more talk of Andretti getting the OK from the FIA to pursue F1.
But from what I understand, F1 still has to approve, and no one seems thrilled.
I didn't read any of the articles, that was just my takeaway. So could be more to it...

No team is going to approve an 11th team. They don't want to split the money anymore then it needs to be.

Disagree. Attempts to make more action on the track have weakened the sport in my eyes. Half of the enjoyment I get from watching is the technological changes teams make to try and catch the leaders. What is killing F1 are the budget caps. Many times Ferrari would start behind and would literally outspend/out test everyone to make up the deficit. Bring back Tobacco and Alcohol, unlimited budgets and unlimited testing. And grenade motors, KABLAMMO!

My friend, that would go against the dream that F1 is going to be Net Zero by 2030. They are getting so silly now that tire warmers are on the block because they use so much energy, and are expensive, that it doesn't fit in with the F1 sustainability dream. If you can't afford and use tire warmers you aren't going back to unlimited spending and kablammo, grenading engines. F1 is increasingly unserious in many areas of their business.

Normal service resumed, re. Verstappen, he didn't do a thing wrong all weekend. RB is fortunate Max can get out front and motor away because Perez is zero help right now, he's nowhere close to Max in qualifying and his race performance can only be considered as poor right now. Something has to give. We'll see if McLaren can close the gap to RB, Mercedes and Ferrari are pretty meh right now, not even in the hunt most of the time. Singapore was an aberration.

I like Sergio Perez but unfortunately, he needs to go.. It would be a completely different championship with somebody consistent, fast and competitive occupying the second seat at Red Bull.

Let's not forget that Mercedes despite having a pig of a car, are a very solid second in the constructor's championship.

Yes, albeit inadvertently, that is to say, if you've gone down the wrong path with development, there's no way of fighting back with both hands tied behind your back. The contemporary budget cap (circa 140 million) cap should probably only apply to the title-defending team, and the budget cap for the other teams should be doubled for example to circa 280 million.

I got so excited I forgot my point .re: Andretti. Need to bring back prequalifying.

It's simple, Liberty just need to cover the deficit by diverting/allocating a little bit more of the profits. I'd really like to see Mario (and Luigi😉 give it a really good go in F1, I just don't want to see them languishing at the back.

Kind of anticlimactic winning the WDC in a sprint race on a Saturday even though the sprint race was pretty good.

The drivers championship was always gonna be won by Verstappen; he's had absolutely no opposition or competition, so it didn't matter where or when he won it, it was always going to be an anti-cliMax.

I know but I would've preferred he won it on a Sunday during the actual GP and not the sprint race.

Just cannot see the point of these Sprint weekends. Qualifying on Friday, Sprint Shootout and Sprint on Saturday, real race on Sunday. What's the point? And in the US ESPN put the Sprint race on one of their 'pay extra' channels so I didn't even see it. Had to watch the 8 minute highlight video on F1.com after the fact.
