Nyck will always have his one shining F1 moment when Sainz confused De Vries on track with debris on track.

Imagine him coming back to RBR in the very near future and giving Max a real challenge lol.
If I was Max, I'd be sweating a little....just sayin'

I imagine Max couldn't give a shit. He has the best car and the team is built around him. Danny Ric is not going to trouble him one bit I would humbly suggest.

I mean, you're probably right. I suppose the person who may really want to worry is Perez hah.

Perez is the next to go
he's got the shortest leash by far. One thing I have to give Mercedes credit for, they have always been able to pair their drivers nicely where RB has struggled to find a good partner for Max.

Ricciardo was impressive in today's Pirelli tyre test with Red Bull, his first drive in 2023 machinery, and that his best lap would have been good enough for the front row of the grid in Sunday's British Grand Prix. - Lawrence Barretto
Consider Perez’s seat marked.

Not sure if this is rhetorical or not, but I have to assume their move to F1 is going to cost them a lot of R&D time and money. The article does mention F1 as one of the reasons
The Audi R8 program is also ending this year so with the production car no longer being made it makes sense that the GT3 program goes too since successors are all electric

The article mentions the end of the R8 program as well. Lots of changes are coming for all these manufacturers.

Absolutely agree.. Ricardo, on his day, is a very good peddler, but let's not forget we've been down this same road before, Ricardo would keep Verstappen honest, but no more than that.

I am actually really pleased that Daniel Ricardo is back driving again in F1, he is a very talented driver given the right car.. though I do think he's going to find the Alpha Tauri a real handful.. I don't think it's going to suit his driving style, and he'll have to adapt really quickly.. I guess all he's got to do is consistently beat Yuki, and that might be a tough ask to do consistently.. any thoughts??

I'm pleased too because he's such a good character to have around f1. However, I'm genuinely intrigued / concerned to see how he'll do. He's had a few chances to make his mark since leaving RB and not done well at all. I really hope he shines but history suggests he'll struggle. As much as I like Checo it would be more fun to see him in the other RB! Think he'd be more likely to get into Q3...

I always thought Daniel’s biggest mistake was leaving Renault and not leaving RB. He was never going to win at RB with them being centered around Max so he had to leave them.

Even though Renault aren’t great, the whole team was going to be centered around him. He would’ve had a much better chance vs going to McLaren who was already titled towards Lando.

Yeah, he really is a really great character, and very quirkly funny!
It's interesting that the Formula One drivers for the most part have really interesting and often quirky personalities, especially when you compare them to something like footballers of a similar age, it seems to be a night and day different for some reason..

Moving to Renault was a terrible move but he did perform very well within those limitations, on the other hand, McLaren was a complete nightmare and Lando outclassed him all over the place, in fact, more so than Verstappen did in the Red Bull.

Yes, I agree he'd most likely be doing a far more consistent job especially in qually than Checo, and most importantly, keeping Verstappen honest.

However, Gasly & De Vries have proved that contracts at RB aren’t concrete.

Sure, and even if the contract is watertight they can still usually be bought out somehow..
although there might have been get-out clauses in Ghastly & De Vriess' contracts; I'd imagine that Verstappens' contract is uber watertight..
It's my understanding that Perezs' contract has performance caveats, but is very watertight.
