2021’s Biggest Rolex Release? New GMT & SD Bracelets?

A 2021 “release” by Rolex that I’m not seeing much info about is that buyers can now select the 126710 GMT-Master II on an Oyster, and can choose a SS Sky-Dweller on a Jubilee:

Strangely, the Rolex webpage for the GMT characterizes this as a “new model for 2021”:

... while the SD webpage meanwhile is silent on the matter (other than offering the above captured option to purchase on Jubilee):

In all, while the irony is obvious that Rolex’s biggest 2021 release could with a straight face be argued to be the option of existing bracelets for these models, the Oyster and Jubilee options for these models is - relatively speaking - pretty exciting.

I wonder how much Rolex is charging for that SD Jubilee as a separate 👎😗

Personally, I think the SD should have always been offered on the Jubilee - and the web mockup proves it (for me)

I think it does quite suite the jubilee, I’d prefer that over an oyster on it. You’re right that it’s probably bigger news than most of the novelties too

Pairing the oyster with a fluted bezel has always been a head-scratcher.

Speaking of scratching, the oyster with polished center links, as on the SD, is a master-class in how to attract scratches from up to 5 meters away...

I agree with everyone's sentiment as well. I like the Jubilee on both the SD & GMT, not only does it look better it also wears more comfortable as well.

It’s funny that they go to great lengths to advertise watches that are unavailable at ADs and impossible to purchase at retail

No, every single watch they make (in 2020, 800K of them) are “available at ADs” and “purchased at retail.”

The relevant question instead is to whom are they sold, and on what external conditions.

Rolex sells far more watches than Omega, the separate issue is to whom are ADs selling them.
