2017 wasn't too shabby, I upgraded my collection, and picked up some pieces that I wanted to get, but now I don't know where to go. The Omega mountain, while I have enjoyed it, doesn't offer much more, other than a Railmaster. I don't have a burning desire for a 2998, as I truly love the Ed White. I am contemplating selling a few Rolex and Omega to fund a few more Rolex. I am in the fence about the whole thing since it is getting outside of my comfort zone. My collection already turned over in 2017, and another rapid change makes me wonder what will be next. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as far as what to sell and what to keep. Here is what is possibly on the block:
Thoughts on what to sell : dibs on the Speedy/SM300 Thoughts on what to keep : dibs on the Speedy/SM300 seriously, all stunning examples. If you don’t have good reason to sell, not sure why you would, unless it’s to fund incomings...not sure how much better you could go from there...
I'd be curious too where you're going when you have a gilt 1675 small gmt on the block. Perhaps one of the big red daytonas?
And you are thinking about selling that PERFECT 105.012-66 I couldn't do that but I acknowledge that the hunt for the next grail is the most exiting part
Send me the 1st GMT of the two... and I'll send you a nice thank you card in return. It might have kittens on.
It all depends on what you're keeping. If you have another twisted lug Speedy and another sm300 then maybe you can let them go, but if not I would definitely be keeping those two. But, as you know, I'm much more Omega than Rolex!
I would let the 66’ go, as you have the Ed White and 69’. I would let the 16750 go or the gilt if you are upgrading to another gilt. If you are going for the DRSD I would keep the gilt and let the 16750 go. I would also let the red sub go. The zenith and longines aren’t really my cup of tea so they would also go imo. Good luck on the hunt!!!
You find yourself in a very dangerous position. Having achieved most of the watches you want consensually, you may be tempted to raise the bar by seeking other, less conventional horological thrills. Like fondling or groping the watches of others without their consent. Don't go there!
where do you go from 'HERE'? i dunno...6541? 6542? 33.3? some 40s jumbo triple moonphase that belonged to a deceased royal? you do realize most mortals, and many demi-mortals, would kill to get 'HERE'.
I think maybe a nice guilty Explorer 1016 might be up your alley. And also, DIBS on the 105.012CB!!!!!!!
