Blue dial with black date wheel = epic fail. The SMP died in 2008 when the Blake/Sword Hands was disconinued and then they compounded this error by removing the waves from the dial of the skeleton hands version.

I had several SMP's (wave with white wheel, wave with black wheel, ceramic with black wheel, custom ceramic case with wave dial and black wheel, etc) and they all look nice IMHO. This is my current one (150th anniversary SMP Ti; being serviced):

That grey dial sword really is one of the nicer ones for sure.

The supposedly black dial on the AC is actually a few shades lighter than the 2254.50 and could be considered dark grey in comparison. This is the my current fave of those in my possession what with the 18K bezel but I think yours is nicer still:

The SMP SS AC is cool, only other SMP I know has the casing handwritten style engrave in the crown side. I once put the non AC dial on another Ti SMP I had, looked really nice:

That is wonderful, possibly the perfect Blake SMP. Yes you wound me a little since in reality a non-AC with applied dial would be preferable to the actual AC but the AC is what I have so there we are (along with 4 other variations). I have salved the wound a little by picking up a 2201.50 fairly cheap which also has an applied dial :

Sorry to hear that; hope you can find it. If not, you can always buy another old style Seamaster and install on it the modern bracelet (1515/816) so you have the best of both worlds. Below a Seamaster coaxial 2220.80.00 I had with the newer 1515/816 bracelet. It will fit any 2531/2541/2220/2221 Seamaster, as well as some other models.

Excellent advice! Where is the best place to buy 1515/816 bracelet?

There is one for sale in watchrecon for about $300 (fully brushed). I have a few 1515/816 links (half and full) left from one I had for sale if someone needs a couple.

Is "fully brushed" a good thing? The originals have polished pairs of "end plates" marching like tracks down the band.

It's not a bad thing, its a matter of taste. You could get the center links repolished by a watchmen

Last night I realized my Seamaster I got for my 45th birthday in 2003 fell off my wrist at a high school football game. While it may be found, the chances are slim.
I had the watch sent in for a refurbishing a few years ago, and the pins in the bracelet had been poking out slightly from time to time. I now read on this post that Omega has replaced the pins with screws.
I have other watches, but this watch has been my favorite, and I am heartbroken to lose it.
I know this reply is very late and not everyone is a fan of "NATO" (or MOD G10 style) straps, but, had you been wearing your favorite watch on something which simultaneously held both spring bars (like a NATO strap), you would not likely have lost that watch. I guess that since you've had over three months to post a happy update, it was not found (yet)? One can hope that it will turn up and be returned to you soon.
