Well it came back looking really nice. I managed to find a 1479 bracelet.

Not here sadly, only 1171
IMO, the1479 is a better bracelet than the 1171. I have both.

Yes I tried the 1171 and its very light and seems quite fragile. The 1479 I currently has, I agree, is a much stronger and more comfortable bracelet.

I don't think so. I was in an OB last week, and they said "Sure! We can still order a 1479 for you!" (I'm waiting on spare links) So I asked the clerk to look up what a new bracelet cost, out of curiousity. She told me, but when she showed me the screen on her computer, it basically said that the 1479 had been replaced by the 1998, and that's what she could get me.

Yes thats what happened with me too. The 1998 is all they have or the 1171. The 1171 is a 'special order' so be prepared to wait on it too.

Mines on a nato until the 1479 gets here. I managed to get a 1479 from japan, 25 link bracelet. The 1479 pictured above is off a 1992 Speedmaster Pro I picked up. Its going in for a service, so the 1991 'borrowed' the bracelet for a few days.

This is the 1992 Speedy I purchased. A very honest unpolished example. Box and card too.
