Michael James "Mike" McCulley (born August 4, 1943), (Capt, USN, Ret.), is a retired American naval officer and aviator, test pilot, metallurgical engineer, former NASA astronaut, and was the first submariner in space.

STS-34 was a NASA Space Shuttle mission using Atlantis. It was the 31st shuttle mission overall, and the fifth flight for Atlantis. STS-34 launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on 18 October 1989, and landed at Edwards Air Force Base, California, on 23 October. During the mission, the Jupiter-bound Galileo probe was deployed into space.

In fact, during each of the NASA programs, astronauts have always worn their personal watches aboard spaceflight missions:
Mercury:
Walter Schirra wore his personal Omega Speedmaster CK2998-4 aboard MA-8 Sigma-7 (October 1962)
Gemini:
Charles Pete Conrad wore his Glycine Airman on both Gemini-V (August 1965) and Gemini XI (September 1966)
Apollo:
Jack Swigert was the first astronaut to wear a personal Rolex GMT-master aboard an Apollo mission (April 1970)
Skylab:
William Pogue wore a Seiko 6139 automatic chronograph on Skylab-4 (November 1973)

There is your everyday catch a glimpse of a Rolex on an astronauts wrist cool...And then there is astronaut Scott Altman's Rolex wrist shot cool.

While working on Captain Altman's signed case back for my collection I did a deep dive into some new images to see what I could find and by my count Altman wore no less than 5 different watches on STS-125. Judging by these images I think Captain Altman has a nice appreciation for watches.

Also, STS-125 has one of the coolest crew posters which is a nice play on the Oceans 12 movie poster, and as you can see, both Scott Altman and Danny Ocean are adjusting their watches.

STS-90 a nice two-tone or possibly gold Rolex...

STS-125 a beautiful Root Beer Rolex GMT...

And a close-up of that beauty...
