Trying to find my birth year in a speedy pro moon watch (87). I believe I've found one from a good seller. however, the ref is 145-0022 861 and watch no. 3950.50 purchased in 1991 but he said the dealer stated it was an 87 production year. thoughts on what the production year would be without knowing the serial? Hate to make the guy take it to a watch maker to find out so thought I'd check here. Also, is it ok if its not Omega who opens it? A friend told me something about a "pressurized environment".

The "pressurized environment" comment is meaningless. Have a watchmaker open the watch and look up the serial at ilovemyspeedmaster.com and you'll get a good idea of when it was produced.

Interesting wrongly filled out warranty card... watch number should be the serial... the reference was 3950...

Only the serial number can give you an idea on date.

Pictures of the watch might help also.

That watch has the extremely desirable (and valuable) 1450 bracelet with 808 endlinks. Can't tell you if it was made in '87, but I can tell you that the bracelet alone significantly bumps up the value. How much is the seller asking?

Signs do point to the late '80s due to the bracelet as well as it still having a DNN bezel with serifs on the 7s

Not only is that card incorrectly filled but it seems to use 2 different pens. I am thinking it could be a made up set but then it could be fine and just a provincial jeweller who didn’t have a clue. Everything is right for late 80s (box, card etc) but I would want to see the serial if the year mattered. Omega would issue an extract for that.

That seems VERY strong money that fully accounts for the inclusion of the 1450 bracelet and a very nice DNN bezel.

As in u will pay for what u get, you not getting any discount...separated value is roughly head about $3k, bracelet about $1500. Both appear nice (better pics would help). Personally, I love the 1450...
