Hi!

I'm looking at purchasing a 1984 Seamaster (1020 calibre - unknown ref) which is advertised at £850.

I thought I'd pop on and ask a few questions as I'm pretty limited on what to look out for regarding redials and replacement parts other than checking previous forum posts and the omega vintage archives!

I've only ever had 1 vintage watch gifted to me so am really keen on building a nice collection, and don't want to get ripped off with a fake or pay in excess so am a bit cautious about jumping on it immediately.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me in regards to:

a) does it look like a mod/redial or anything like that?
b) is £850 around the right price or should I be reconsidering other models or keeping a look out for others?

Thanks in advance! 😀

She appears to be all original but way overpriced. Perhaps you can explore the various for sale sections of this site for a safer and more reasonable deal 👍

1984 sounds late for a 1020. Why do you think it is from that year? It might be but it might be earlier.

I edited my post above since it is just possible it was '84 but I'd be wary if the year is all important. The serial does sound about right though so maybe it was one of the very last.

As noted it is very expensive.

Great thanks - the year isn't particularly important to me so no worries! Thanks for helping!
