1979 Speedmaster -- questions!

Hi All

I'm looking at 1979 Speedmasters for my little brother (born that curséd year, ha ha)

I know a little (ref 145.022 with cal 861; 1171 bracelet with 633 endlinks etc.)

Do I remember rightly that there's no "-79" date code inside the case back? Or have I misremembered that?

Anything to look for or look out for?

You would expect a 1979 Speedmaster Pro to be marked 145.022-78.

there is no -79 and the -78 ended in 1980.

you can use the website ilovemyspeedmaster.com to fairly accurately date a Speedmaster.

I should also note you should look at speedmaster101.com and look at the 145.022-78 specs it should have a certain dial and bezel, serviced ones may have the wrong dial or bezel hurting value.
