When I bought this watch, it was listed at about 25% over what the market rate was for the very few comps I could find.

All of the comps were compromised in some way- damage on the dial, cracked
bezel, ashy lume, no bracelet, etc.
This is a rare transitional model, made for maybe a year or two- perfect dial & hands, stunning lume, unpolished and sharp case, near perfect bezel- original full length bracelet. i agonized over the premium- then bought it. No regrets, I could now easily sell it for twice what i paid (these have taken off in the last year), and it's a prize in my collection.
Looks an absolute beauty so it could be said you didn’t over pay at all. It’s a winner on the beautiful item front and even looking at it with a cold financial eye it’s a very shrewd investment so again paying for that one good example has been well worth it. It’s a stunning watch.

I don’t tend to flip many watches, so if something is on my long term wish list, I'd rather overpay for a nice one that I really like than jump on one that is a great deal but has issues.

Yup! I buy a lot of “nice to have” with issues because I set a low threshold I am willing to spend, and if I get it- awesome. But the must haves- go big or go home.

That one is actually better than most. Typically the bezels are trashed on these- this one has a few nicks but nothing bad. Case finishes are intact (either rebrushed well or unpolished- hard to tell for me on these), and dial & hands are excellent (lume is bright yellow- only a few little spots on them which is fine). Not sure if it’s supposed to have a T crown, but who cares- those get replaced in service usually anyway. It’s a nice looking watch. Seller doest mention running condition- would like to know the chrono starts and resets properly. 7734 so easy to have serviced.

Yeah it does look good and is very tempting now to buy it and the T12 as they’re both very good examples and I like both very much.

The seller is German but may well have good English so I might chance asking him about how it’s running etc.

Honestly, these things have been sleepers for years. They have shot up in price over the last couple years, but they haven’t hit crazy money like some have. They are on the rise, but still affordable for what they represent in value from a major brand.

Yeah I think the represent outstanding value. I’m 45 and to me these cushion case chronographs and the Tissot refine coolness bring to mind a Steve McQueen and Paul Newman vibe which matters to me. I was watching The Towering Inferno the other night and that 70’s coolness came to mind again.

I love the 1970's cushion cases. If you are into the motorsports vibe, an old FS Heuer thread from 2019 was bumped up to the top today. It is the cats meow with the GF BOR bracelet and the improved cal 12 movement.

My older Zenith is also a chunky 1970's model.
Your Zenith is superb. Anyone would love to have it. I’ll have a read of that Heuer thread. I’m sure I’ll love it.

I’ve messaged the seller of the Navigator with questions but nothing back as yet. Google translates the item description as follows:
This Tissot Navigator Wordtimer is in very good condition. All functions work perfectly and the clock switches correctly.
The photos are part of the offer and reflect the condition of this watch.
This is a private sale - no guarantee or warranty. Returns excluded.
Please only bid if you agree to everything.
Edit: FWIW he says everything is working fine.
Edit 2: I've decided to let this one go to someone else due to not being comfortable with the sellers payment conditions.

Thanks very much. Yeah I think it’s in better shape than the seller described. Very handsome watch and in no way large on the wrist at 43mm.

Yeah the Navigator is still on my mind. Next month maybe!
